The Ananda Bhikhuni Ordination
In October 2003, seventeen women received the higher ordination as Buddhist nuns or Bhiksuni (Sanskrit) or Bhikhuni (Pali) at the Shakyamuni Buddhist Centre in Canberra, Australia.
